“The blades move the air, which destratifies hot air concentrations to uniform the climate in general. Then water is sprayed at regular intervals so as to keep the internal temperature within a certain range.”

Eliturbo System – this is the name of the technology – is an air mixer – destrarification fan that can uniform temperature and humidity both vertically and horizontally, which also helps avoid condensation and dripping.

Ventilating and cooling greenhouses is now a necessity in light of the high temperatures often reached off season as well. At Macfrut, Impresind, a company from the province of Milan, presented its system to destratify air and cool it using a nebulizer. Mixing the air is also necessary during the cold season to improve temperature management.

“This helps reduce the energy necessary to cool the air in the summer and warm it in winter by as much as 40%. For example, in Canada there are cases where costs have dropped by 30%.”

The spraying phase

“We devised this system in light of the requests we have received over the past few years by companies dealing with protected cultivation, and it is doing great,” explains export manager Marco Pescali.

“Eliturbo uses a special helicentrifugal impeller patented by Impresind that blends the air without generating currents and, unlike other ceiling – destratification fans, it does not generate air flows downwards and concentrated in restricted areas, but it distributes the air radially with an almost imperceptible ventilation in line with safety and environmental hygiene regulations.”
