Double win at IPM Essen for Plantipp

Once again, IPM Essen was very good to Plantipp as two of their new plants were awarded at the fair, the Orange Star Pyracantha and the Praying Hands Mad About Mangave®.

“Our Orange Star Pyracantha took the top prize, the ‘IPM Novelty 2024’ award, in the ‘Woody Shrubs’ category. The jury selected our breeder/grower partner, Hoogeveen Plants from the Netherlands, for Orange Star in part due to its drought resistance, as more and more gardeners look for climate-resilient plants. Additionally, this evergreen selection stands out with its disease resistance and abundant berries, it is the world’s first full thorn-free pyracantha!”

“Then, the Praying Hands Mad About Mangave from grower partner Cactusmania di Manera Bruno in Ventimiglia, Italy, received a special jury prize! The jury felt Praying Hands is a perfect plant of the future that showcases innovation in ornamental plant cultivation. The Mad About Mangave line features groundbreaking crosses between Manfreda and Agave and can be utilized in the landscape or in containers, either inside or out! They are from breeder partner Walters Gardens.”

But the two winners weren’t everything Plantipp showed during the trade fair. They introduced close to 20 new novelties, a complete list of which can be found here.
