“We wanted to assist care center residents by engaging in productive activities that not only fill their leisure time but also contribute to their overall well-being,” he said.

It aims to empower senior citizens by equipping them with skills and knowledge in hydroponic agriculture and ornamental plant cultivation. UPM Assoc Prof Dr Ahmad Faizal Abdull Razis said the initiative sought to provide meaningful activities for the elderly while promoting sustainable agriculture.

A unique agricultural knowledge-sharing program was conducted by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to enrich the lives of senior citizens. The event at Darul Insyirah Senior Citizens Care and Education Centre in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, was titled “Cakna Warga Emas: From Putra to Bonda.”



“By sharing our expertise in agriculture, we hoped to inspire them to cultivate their own plants and promote healthy living,” added Ahmad Faizal.
